Welcome to Prothero's Post Resort
on Lake of the Woods, MN

"...spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean..."

- John Muir

Surrounded by Canada on three sides, the Northwest Angle is the most northerly point in the contiguous United States. Prothero’s Post, a 64-year old log cabin resort that is truly at the end of the road, embodies the peaceful solitude and quiet mystery of this out of the way location. The resort has been modernized over the years while still maintaining the essence of Lake of the Woods, the Northwest Angle, and its founding hosts Grace and Dale Prothero. Now in the hands of their granddaughter, Kellie Knight, her partner Tony and their children, Prothero's Post remains true to its simple, family, and fishing roots.

We'd welcome the chance to host you and yours. With more cabins in the works, there's now a better chance than ever to break into the year-over-year reservation rotation that so many of the resort's guests enjoy.

We'd be honored to host you!
